I go over things I wrote,
a word may grab me by the throat.
Sometimes I remove a single word,
it’s better now, it’s less absurd.
Some parts are too long and out of place,
I cut and change to save my face.
It matters very much what I select.
Finally, all is present and correct.
I smile and say,
that’s right, that’s okay.
When I have a niggling doubt
it means things must be changed about.
Nothing less than right will do.
After all, it must please you.
Me too.
