Posh Boy

A posh boy suffering from middle class guilt became a raving red.

He said people should do this instead.

Venezuela here we come, see what happens under their thumb.

Are you sure your answer is not over simplified, why not leave well enough alone, can you cure a man who died?

If things get worse when you’re in charge will you say shut up and eat your bun, a gunman is at large?

I’m sorry for you and your delusions, who screams the loudest, who sows confusions?

I well know things are bad and pretty bad at that.

Is Kim Jong-un a fat cat?

Maybe we should do what Castro did and let no one out.

Is that your secret plan, you who shout?

When the rich repent their sins, love begins.

Who does not want money, more and more?

There is a beggar at your door.

Hitler said he had it right, Stalin too.

Who says you should run the zoo?

You do.

Who has a vested interest in the status quo?

The vested interests, now you know.

We don’t need to change the electoral system, we need to change the electorate.

When you do that I’ll place my bet.

The politics of greed and envy are not what we need.

A vote for you is suicide indeed.

You speak the truth when it suits you.

Beware, another politician might shoot you.

I prefer things don’t go from bad to worse.

Are you a blessing or a curse?

I would like a world without posh boys, do you agree?

Do you know better than me?

Read history, chairman Mao.

Did he know how?

Violence and lies are not the way, whatever you say.

I know people don’t disagree when a gun is pointed at them, ask the I.R.A.

Visit Venezuela, learn the truth.

Happy holiday.

You mean well.

Good intentions pave the way to Hell.

The poor should be housed, who won’t let them, their next door neighbour, is that you?

Who sold their soul for votes, which crew?

The ones who get elected, by who?

Why don’t people change, because they don’t want to, that’s why.

We are ruled largely by self interest, I tell no lie.

When that day changes let me know.

Until that day I say I told you so.

What you already know.

There’s none so blind as those who don’t want to see, they’re all around.

Guarding their penny or their pound.

I know some are not self interested, but they are few and far between.

Look around, see what I mean.

I too can dream.

Still Voice

A still small voice said that is right the stronger voice said good night.

The still voice said do not shout the strong voice said I know what its all about.

The still voice said you use the word I if you do that we will die.

The strong voice said shut up you fool I was the bully at my school.

The still voice said you murder me the strong voice said I do it in the name of free.

The still voice said you fly a false flag a flag is after all a rag.

The strong voice said how dare you insult what is great I condemn you to your fate.

The still voice said you know you’re wrong the strong voice said get back in your box where you belong.

The strong voice said I rule the roost shut up still voice your goose is cooked.

The still voice said when will peace be the strong voice said I believe in me.

That’s the trouble don’t you see said the still voice silently.

Sense from Quora

Brian Overland

In a nutshell…

  • Everywhere people are in chains, especially workers. This part often seems to be true.
  • The captialist system requires ever greater expansion, and therefore exploitation, simply to sustain itself. It’s a process that Marx says can’t continue forever. This has appeared to be true at times, but doesn’t have to be.
  • The root cause of all this evil is private property itself, according to Marx. This is the part of Marxism, I think, that is most at odds with human nature.
  • The solution is, at first, a super-strong centralized socialist government that would take away most private property rights, especially the right to own factories, the “means of production.”
  • That strong government would then fade away, leaving a kind of utopia in which goods and services went “from each accoring to his ability” flowing toward “each according to need.”
  • And all of this is supposed to be inevitable, to happen through historical necessity.

The decision of history seems to be that the part of Marxism dealing with the problems of capitalism has some validity; however, the prescribed solution has spectacularly failed. Strong dictatorial regimes have never faded away to be replaced by some perfect kind of utopia.

Skull Two

I like saying things that mean two things at once.

Some hate it and treat me as a dunce.

Two for the price of one as I once said.

You may get the joke before you’re dead.

Why has a skull a grin on its face?

Maybe a joke is not out of place.

Must I explain clearly as to a fool or child?

Some don’t want to know at school, they drive their teacher wild.

The skull smiled.

Objectivity 101

Objective about others but not yourself, does that hit home?

Are you the pope of Rome?

Seeing things from others point of view is all very well on the road to Hell.

Or only from your own, leave me alone.

You may infer, I may imply, and on and on until we die.

So objectivity is not possible someone said I don’t know who. You?

Absolute subjectivity may be a contradiction in terms.

Your body may be eaten by worms.

Are absolutes absolutely wrong?

You be the judge, I end my song.

I’m not quite sure about one line here, so what?

That’s your lot.

Latest Fashion

God is out of fashion because God is truth.

Fashion is a fickle jade, it corrupts our youth.

Who wants the latest thing, who rejects the old?

Who says only new is good, who says a child is bold?

Who says it makes no difference, who says it doesn’t matter?

Who says its no one’s fault the obese are getting fatter?

The same ones who hate free speech, they hate freedom too.

Its never anybody’s fault, the blame is all on you.

Logic, reason, truth itself, are they dead and gone?

They are in the mouth of some and yet the truth lives on.

To Hell And Back

When I leave Hell and the Devil says goodbye, don’t cry.

Wipe the single tear from your eye.

I have mingled with the likes of you until I’m blue in the face.

Now I leave the land of big disgrace.

But why, I gave you a chance, girl at a dance, where is romance?

No, its not for me, I don’t want fantasy.

I took a fire extinguisher to Hell, oh well.

If you are pregnant or a serial killer or a mad dictator must I forgive you too?

Sometimes hard to do.

You expect a lot of me.

I do too, wait and see.

Will I live up to expectation?

I love relaxation.

If you forgive me I’ll forgive you, forget the past, forget our crimes.

I enjoy good times.

I changed my mind, I’ll stay in Hell another while.

Long enough to make the Devil smile.

Together he and I will walk an Irish mile.
