Think

Why is it illegal to think?

I ask myself, I have a drink.

Be careful what you say.

They might lock you up today.

Or shoot you if they have a gun.

You’re not the only one.

In Poland they had gutters in police stations to let the blood run out.

Some still thought their system better, they had not found out.

Who says its all sweetness and light here?

I turn to beer.

Utopia is atop the hill, next to the looney bin, they’re climbing still.

Will they ever get there? If they have the will.

Full Flower

Art and science walk hand in hand, shall we allow them to despoil the land?

At their best they are wonderful, supreme, at their worst an adolescent dream.

To be mature or immature, wine aged in the wood.

Or whiskey ten year old, its good.

Thought and imagination find their flower now and then.

Oftentimes we wait and wait, saying oh God when?

At any level good is good, trees and shrubs make up the wood.

Some stand tall and stately, magnificently made.

Affording, as someone said, the weary traveller shade.

Genocide

Long on diagnosis, short on cure.

I listen and I hear, must I endure?

Alright, I’m old and easily bored.

Have I missed the point through inattentiveness, metaphorically I snored.

Is this what gives academicism a bad name, gentlemanly, polite, you know the game.

Long live civilisation whatever that may be.

What’s the answer to genocide, a cup of tea?

Your answer, BBC.

Answer

Is God the answer to my problems or is he the cause?

Do I defy all known laws?

How come everything is problematic, is the answer in my attic?

It appears doing things is easy, why is finding out how such a slog?

Ireland is one seventh bog.

This pilgrim’s progress is a mess.

If I keep going I will find out how.

I am my own God anyhow.

Back to the grindstone now.

One thing, go to source.

You’ll find the answer there of course.

Your Problem

Your problem is you don’t mean what you say.

You know you don’t, you run away.

You may say you meant it at the time.

But you don’t do it, that is your crime.

Why should anyone trust you, once bitten, twice shy.

Truth is not a lie.

Or you may say you only said it, what does that mean?

Nothing at all, does a boy like ice cream?

So you mean nothing at all.

Do my words make you feel small?

Walk tall.

Pretend not to understand if you like, how many wheels has a bike?

Knowing you you may say three.

It looks like two to me.

I don’t believe you, why should I?

Knowing you your answer is a lie.

Some of us mean what we say.

If you say otherwise you’re wrong, good day.

For Nothing

People don’t value things they get for nothing, that’s an unfortunate fact.

Or so I say, would you pay to see me act?

Would you give oxygen to a smothering man, would he say thank you, would he be your fan?

Would you help a drowning sucicide, I must admit I never tried.

I tell you this for nothing, a gift is a gift.

Would you give a millionaire a lift?

Something for nothing is widely desired.

Human race, you make me tired.

I am a gentleman, retired.

I was a gentleman, but not now.

As Robin would say to Batman, holy cow!

Error

I make a mistake now and then, its human to err.

My sister spotted one, I said that to her.

Did you think I was perfect says I to a friend?

No I did not says he, bringing that topic to an end.

The man who never made a mistake never made anything said a man.

He made them big time, I am not a fan.

Accidentally on purpose is not a mistake.

Have you bought an antique fake?

I prove I am human which does not require much proof.

My house has not got a leaky roof.

There’s many a true word spoken in jest.

Its over, do I pass the test?
