Poetry

People who aren’t poets know what poetry is or was or used to be.

Perhaps I’m not a poet, only me.

A poem encapsulates a truth.

Someone said that in my youth.

Also, it is the highest form of literature, or as some might say, writing.

Should it be inviting? Even, maybe, sometimes exciting?

Yes, who says, I do, don’t you?

How it should not be is boring.

Do I hear snoring?

When we’re dead we’re dead, but not yet, please.

Was it for this we cut down trees?

Much poetry is deservedly unread.

You heard me, that’s what I said.

I’d rather be dead.
